Wig Tricks and Tips
1)Be sure to detangle your wig after each wear.
Brush the wig thoroughly with a detangling brush.
For wigs with medium to tight curls, do not brush, use fingers or wide tooth comb to detangle.
2) Use a mild moisturizing shampoo and/or conditioner when washing.
In a sink or basin, add a small amount of shampoo to warm water.
Immerse wig. Gently swirl and let soak for approximately 5 minutes.
3) Rinse the wig gently in cold water until all the shampoo is removed. Rinse twice.
4) Gently apply conditioner through the wig and leave on for 5 - 10 minutes to allow it to penetrate the hair.
5) Rinse the wig gently in cold water until all the conditioner is removed.
6) Wrap the wig in a towel and gently pat out excess water.
7)Place clean wig on a wig stand and allow
to air dry thoroughly brushing or combing.
Optional:
Apply conditioning spray / leave in
conditioner very lightly over wig
Before going to bed, braid/twist your hair into one loose large braid and wear your Empress satin silk scarf to tie down the edges and cover with a full satin silk scarf or bonnet.
When you wake up, undo braid and comb using a wide tooth comb/paddle brush. Always start at the ends and working your way up to roots.
-Style as needed
-For bomb shell waves or wand curls, style with flexi-rods or pin curls.
**Disclaimer**
If your wigs was installed with adhesive we do not recommend you removing it yourself you are not a professional or know what your doing!
If your wig was installed by a stylist we recommend you request for them to remove it or to advice you how to remove.
When your wig has been installed with glue or other adhesive we recommend you use rubbing alcohol or lace glue remover.
Apply rubbing alcohol/lace glue remover to a cloth or directly to the glued edges of the lace. Let it saturated then gently rub and begin to lift from the edge above your ear.
Please be advised vigorous rubbing and tugging on lace can cause damage!
Wet hair with warm water.
Apply a moisture rich Conditioner and comb hair, starting with the ends working your way up to your roots.
Leave Conditioner in for at least 10-15 minutes.
Do no not massage or rub hair together.
Rinse thoroughly.
Scrunch hair gently release water and enhance the curls.
Apply a small amont of leave in moisturizer.
When damp, apply a dime size of an anti-frizz alcohol free hair serum for a more tamed look.
-Let air-dry.
-Do not use oil products excessively on curly hair, it will cause matting.
-Do not brush or comb hair when dry, it will cause hair to frizz and may cause hair to tangle & break off.
